Recommended Companies/Products

Dry Kibble :

There are only 2 companies I recommend for kibble. Each is Canadian. Canadian standards for what goes into kibble are restricted/governed by the European union. These companies have very high qa/qc.

Canned:

Canned dog food has a very limited need.  It is a very expensive, high fat, high moisture source of highly processed nutrition. When one buys a can of dog food they are paying for a can that goes into the trash, and a lot of somebody else's water… the rest becomes a highly processed source of protein and fat.

Gently cooked:

This is a great alternative to canned and dry kibbled diets for those individuals wanting superior quality nutrition in a less denatured and processed form.    Impact provides the benefit of whole food nutrition, without risking bacterial overload from exposure to unsafe raw meat products. For those individuals who can't process, or don't like raw food feeding this is the ultimate choice. The fruits and veggies are never heated or processed, so they have retained their nutritive influence. This product  is 100% nutritionally complete and balanced for all life stages, and manufactured under the highest industry standards.

******* Please note:  Inferior alternatives exist. Carefully compare labels and manufacturing practices*****

Dehydrated or freeze dried raw:

This is one step away from raw. It is referred to as,"raw without the thaw." This is a lightweight and nutrient dense alternative to frozen for those who want to feed their dogs whole, unprocessed nutrition.   These foods are sold in dry form and are intended to be reconstituted with warm water before feeding.  These companies do not pasteurize. There are some that do.  If you buy a pasteurized product you should instead definitely consider feeding the gently cooked food  "Impact."

Raw Meat Blends:

Raw food feeding is perhaps the most controversial feeding plan of all. Done correctly it can offer your pet amazing health benefits.  I never, ever, recommend feeding grocery store meat raw.  On average the bacteria load measured is almost 30% higher than reputable companies processing raw meat blends for dogs.  Additionally, grocery store raw isn't complete or balanced as it is devoid of the organs and bone that offer dogs important vitamins and minerals. Raw food feeding offers unaltered, high quality, easily digestible nutrition.

The companies listed below offer raw meat diets, blended with the appropriate muscle meat, organ, and bone ratios. These companies have very high manufacturing standards including flash freezing, and pathogen screening.
